Biography/Statement
Evan Graboyes, MD is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgeon who specializes in head and neck cancer and microvascular reconstruction. Dr. Graboyes from Princeton University in 2007 with degrees in Philosophy and Public Policy. He then received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 2011 and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in 2016. Following residency, he completed a clinical fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017 as a clinician scientist with an additional appointment in the Cancer Control Program of the Hollings Cancer Center.
Dr. Graboyes’ clinical interests include the removal and reconstruction of benign and malignant neoplasms of the head and neck. He is active nationally, serving on various committees for the American Head and Neck Society as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Graboyes’ ongoing research employs innovative patient-centered strategies to improve the qualityand equity of care for HNC patients. His ongoing research, funded by the American Cancer Society, aims to design and implement novel strategies to address body image disturbance in surgically-treated head and neck cancer patients. Other research interests of his include implementing innovative solutions to improve the equity and timeliness of postoperative radiation therapy following head and neck cancer surgery. He has been invited to speak at numerous national and international conferences and his research has resulted in over publication of more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
