The Council of the AHNS approved the formation of a Section of Endocrine Surgery in July 2016 at the 9th International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer. The membership of the AHNS now numbers more than 1700, and in order to remain nimble and responsive to the needs of its members, sections representing areas of discrete interest within the larger society were conceived.
The Section of Endocrine Surgery will serve as the first organizational home for all surgeons with a special interest in endocrine surgery. This will allow the AHNS to better support research, education and progress in the field of endocrine surgery.
Vision of the Section:
To provide the first organizational home for all surgeons who have a special interest in endocrine surgery, under the umbrella of the American Head and Neck Society.
Mission of the Section:
To advance education, research, and quality of care for the patient with thyroid and parathyroid diseases.
The Section of Endocrine Surgery has its own governance structure, officers, mission and by-laws. Membership in the section is open to all members of the AHNS, and is not associated with any additional cost.
