Areas of surgical specialization in Head and Neck Surgery
Head and Neck Surgeon, Reconstructive Head & Neck Surgery
Biography/Statement
I grew up in upstate New York and have wanted to be a doctor since I was 3 years old. My grandpa died of cancer when I was 8 years old, and after that I vowed I would help fight cancer. I see helping others as the true meaning of life. I trained at Washington University in St. Louis for residency and I completed a one-year fellowship in Dallas/Fort Worth. I am an inducted member in the American Head & Neck Society, the largest organization of specialized head and neck cancer specialists in the world. I am also an inducted member of the American College of Surgeons. Along with my busy clinical practice, I started a nonprofit organization called Healing the Children Rocky Mountains, which leads a cleft lip and cleft palate volunteer surgical mission to Peru yearly to help disadvantaged children. I go on two to three cleft missions a year. I am happily married and have a son and a daughter. I love raising my family in Colorado.
About my practice
I love being able to see patients in clinic, operate and immediately help them with their problems. I also enjoy working with people of all ages. I am trained in both head and neck cancer surgery and in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. I am double board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery. I am trained to treat head and neck cancer in minimally invasive techniques such as Da Vinci robotic surgery and in endoscopic CO2 laser surgery. I also enjoy all types of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures of the face and neck, such as rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facial trauma repair and skin cancer repair. I have specialized training in microvascular free tissue transfer and in cleft surgery. I also have a special interest in endocrine surgery and surgically treating all disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands including cancer, adenomas, hyperplasia and goiters.
