The American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) recognizes the continued concern of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Throughout this year, our members have been at the forefront of this health crisis and continue to do extraordinary work under extraordinary circumstances. At AHNS, the health, safety and well-being of our members is of paramount importance and takes precedence in the work of the society to further its mission.
In light of the concerns about COVID-19 and the growing number of institutional travel bans placed on not only on our international colleagues but domestic members as well, the AHNS Executive Committee and Program Service have made the difficult decision to convert the in person AHNS 10th International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer, July 22-25, 2021 in Chicago, IL, to a virtual meeting over the same dates.
We are very sorry for exclusion of our international colleagues who were not invited to participate in the in-person meeting since international travel was unlikely to be open by July of this year. With the meeting only three months away, we are committed to the existing meeting format in a virtual format. On behalf of the entire AHNS, please accept our sincerest apologies for this unfortunate chain of events.
If you registered for the in-person conference, your registration fee will be refunded and the virtual meeting registration will open soon. Please continue to visit the conference website, www.ahns2021.org, for updated details.
Thank you for your understanding in this decision and the AHNS looks forward to offering the same exciting, high impact and insightful educational content in this virtual platform.
