Eligibility: All applicants to the AHNS Advanced Training Council fellowships must be board eligible for one of these three ABMS boards – The American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Board of Surgery, or the American Board of Plastic Surgery or these equivalent boards in Canada.
Application Process: You will need to complete an online application. [The Application for FY2024 is now CLOSED.]. Select the programs you would like to receive your application, and the online system will forward your application to the appropriate program directors. No applications will be forwarded to program directors until all materials have been submitted through the online system. If a program director wishes to invite you to interview, you will be contacted by the program directly. Submission of your application does not guarantee an interview, but does guarantee consideration by each of the programs you select. The application process opens in mid-December and closes mid-March. There is a $50 processing fee plus an additional $15 for each program to which the applicant wishes their application submitted.
Interviews: Each program will set their interview dates and contact directly the applicants they wish to interview. Fellowship interviews take place between January and early June. ATC provides a calendar for programs to indicate what dates they will be conducting fellowship interviews.
FELLOWSHIP INTERVIEW CALENDAR
Ranking: Interviews will be completed by the programs on June 1. At that time applicants will have two weeks to review the programs with whom they interviewed and submit their rank list in the online central matching system.
Central Matching: AHNS instituted a Centralized Matching Program to streamline the fellowship application process. The match results announced on July 1 will be for the Fellowship year beginning July 1 of the following year.
