Evan Graboyes, MD, MPH is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgeon who specializes in head and neck cancer and microvascular reconstruction. Dr. Graboyes graduated from Princeton University in 2007 with degrees in Philosophy and Public Policy. He received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 2011 and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in 2016. Following residency, he completed a clinical fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017 as a clinician scientist with an additional appointment in the Cancer Control Program of the Hollings Cancer Center. He received his Master of Public Health from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2020.
Dr. Graboyes’ clinical interests include the removal and reconstruction of benign and malignant neoplasms of the head and neck. He is the Director of the South Carolina Cancer Alliance Head and Neck Cancer Workgroup, a member of Ethics and Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the Survivorship, Reconstruction, and Quality and Value Committees of the American Head and Neck Society. He serves on the editorial board for JAMA-Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology.
Dr. Graboyes’ research, funded through the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, focuses on developing innovative healthcare delivery and behavioral interventions to improve the timeliness and equity of care for patients with head and neck cancer as well as minimize late and long term psychosocial toxicity for head and neck cancer survivors. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications related to head and neck cancer care delivery and head and neck cancer survivorship.
