My clinical practice is at MetroHealth Medical Center where I serve as the Director of Head and Neck Oncologic, Reconstructive, and Cranial Base Surgery within the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
A native of Santa Barbara, California, I received my undergraduate degrees in Geological Sciences (BS) and English Literature (BA) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I earned my medical degree and completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of California, Davis. A board-certified Otolaryngologist, I have a particular interest in treating cancers and other abnormal growths of the head and neck. This includes surgical removal of these abnormalities as well as complex bony and soft tissue reconstruction utilizing a number of techniques, including microvascular free tissue transfer. Other areas of clinical interest include tumors of the skull base, treatment of facial trauma, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, airway surgery, and general otolaryngology. In addition to these clinical subjects, I maintains interests in medical technology, biomedical ethics, and humanism in medicine.
In my academic role, I actively train medical students and residents, and regularly lecture to other medical professionals in various stages of training. Through my daily clinical activities and academic involvement, I continues to pursue the best and most up-to-date care for all patients with diseases of the head and neck.
