- Members are encouraged to add social media handles, in order to be tagged on AHNS Instagram and Twitter pages. Both AHNS members and non members can view profiles
- Log into your membership account and update your profile and bio

Vikas Mehta grew up in Bakersfield, and graduated from University of California Berkeley with an honors degree in biochemistry. He then completed medical school at the University of California Irvine and went on to residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he won awards for excellence in teaching and research. After residency, he fulfilled his lifelong ambition to care for cancer patients and completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Upon finishing fellowship, he joined the faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in 2012, where he served as the Director of Robotic Head and Neck Surgery and Co-Director of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. During his first three years of practice, he also worked part-time and completed a Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has since moved to New York in 2016 and has joined the faculty at Montefiore Medical Center where is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology.
Vikas Mehta is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Head and Neck Society, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has served on multiple national committees within the AAO-HNS and AHNS taking very active roles within them, including founding several recent projects such as the AHNS monthly journal club, the OREBM article highlight within the Bulletin and the AHNS Young Members Group. He also has authored numerous publications and chapters related to otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. He has presented research at national meetings, earning awards from both the AAOHNS and AHNS. He has also served on several committees within Monte including the Montefiore Quality Council and functions as the Quality Improvement Office for the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center. His clinical practice is focused on the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, diseases of the salivary gland, and thyroid and parathyroid disease. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive approaches including transoral robotic surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy for oral cavity cancers and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery. His research interests include cost effectiveness, quality improvement and outcomes research in patients with head and neck cancer and otolaryngology disorders.
