Position Overview:
LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated academic Otolaryngologist specializing in Head and Neck Surgery (with microvascular training) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and develop their academic career in a vibrant and collaborative academic health science center. This position is available at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The Department of Otolaryngology/HNS at LSU Health Shreveport boasts a robust residency program and a Head and Neck Fellowship, providing a rich academic environment for both clinical practice and educational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical expertise in the full spectrum of head and neck surgical care, with a focus on both ablative and reconstructive procedures.
- Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in meaningful research activities, including clinical trials and collaboration with the research faculty.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center faculty.
- Build and sustain an active clinical practice in both the hospital and outpatient settings.
- Participate in departmental and institutional service initiatives.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified/eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
- Fellowship training in head and neck oncologic / microvascular / robotic surgery.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Louisiana.
